JESUS is the head of the church

Colossians 1:18 “HE is also the head of the body, the church and HE is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that HE Himself will come to have the first place in everything.”

“I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.”

These were my Sunday school teacher’ favorite verses. She would repeatedly tell, remind us about how JESUS is the main vine and how we were the branches. GOD used her to plant a certain foundation in many of us. May the LORD bless her soul for her good works forever.

As a child I was taught and took in almost everything I considered right, even about CHRIST.

It took me being Born again to fully grasp and deeply understand the truth about JESUS. Back then I was more influenced by Biblical laws/commandments. I am certain that I was just strictly religious and not obedient or walketh as GOD willed me to. Living by rules did work for my good though, it saved me from a lot.

Although there are founders, elders, prophets, ministers of the church, JESUS is the head of them all. If HE is not the head of the church, then a believer definitely knows that there’s something wrong there.

If everything exists because of HIM, is created by HIM, belongs to HIM. How could there be another head?

Colossians 2:10 “and in HIM you have been made complete, and HE is the head over all rule and authority.” In whom have we been made complete? JESUS of course. Is there any other in whom we can be made complete? I doubt!😌

If JESUS is the head over all rule and authority that means , even the greatest prophets, wisest elders ever known/existed bows on HIS feet. JESUS is the head of the church!

According to Ephesians 4:8, when JESUS ascended on high, HE gave gifts to men.

This further entails that; every single being, called or not, I mean including the one on vocation, the gifts each possess are from GOD. There’s a greater purpose behind what GOD plans, gives and does.

Christians receive gifts from GOD for the equipping of saints.

How about soul winning? teaching? That too🙂, otherwise JESUS wouldn’t have gave us a command to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit (see Matthew 28:19-20).

Actually GOD gave gifts to men to serve many roles needed to accomplish HIS purposes on earth.

GOD has put all things under the authority of CHRIST and has made HIM head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is HIS body; it is made full and complete by CHRIST, who fills all things everywhere with HIMSELF (according to Ephesians 1:22-23).
